Design Lectures / winter term 2012/13

By invitation of Prof. Thomas Feichtner Harald Gründl held two lectures in a row. First he talked about the genesis of the deisgn studio EOOS, which he founded in 1994 with his two partners (martin Bergmann, Gernot Bohmann) and presented some selected projects. He focused on projects like the algae power stations (plant1-3) or the Blue Diversion Toilet, a project which is part of the reinvent the toilet challenge”, supported by the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation. Coming next was the presentation of recent projects of the Institute of Design Research Vienna, it´s approach and guidelines. The lectures were completed with insights into the exhibition „Tools for the Design Revolution“ by the IDRV, an exhibit on design for sustainability, which has been shown in three different venues and will be followed by a publication.
